We’ve barreled boldly into 2017, and fashion trends are emerging for the upcoming season(s). If you’re looking for ways to up your fashion ante this year, know that it’s all about the accessories. Consider the following pieces for your wardrobe and make a great impression whether you’re headed to happy hour or the office (not recommended; a few).

Ladies First

#1. Floppy Hat

Let’s get this one out of the way first. A floppy hat is a MUST HAVE and not just for looking stylish. It’s imperative to protect your face from the harsh rays, but hey, why not look awesome doing so?

#2. Flat Booties

Flats are also a must even if you wear them only in the spring/winter season. Flats give you a bit more comfort while the bootie brings a bit more support and style points.

#3. Fanny Packs

Sure, they were in like two decades ago, but fanny packs are TOTALLY making a comeback holding all your sh*t. It can look super cute in a solid color or go funky and get your bedazzling on.

Like its cousin the fanny pack, the cross-body bag serves a serious purpose: carrying your crap. But the cross-body function is important as you never really have to keep track of your shoulder-slung bag. Keep it as small as you can as you don’t want to be lugging around a heavy load all day and night.

#4. Stacks of Bangles or Skinny Bracelets

You need something to accessorize all above and party wristbands you’re going to wear, so why not go HAM on bracelets? Try mixing textures and metals to give an amped-up vibe.

To go with all those bangles you’re going to need a ton of jewelry. Stack on necklace on necklace, a few dozen rings and maybe even an anklet. No judgement will be had here.

#5. Sunglasses

Another obvious must.

#6. Flower Crowns

Look, flower crowns any other day seem tacky as hell, but who knows. Rock it with pride. Get a small one, a huge one or go with just a few flowers strewn about your hair. You can’t ever go wrong.

# Common (Men & Women) : A Tattoo

An exposed tattoo on your body can get noticed quickly and make people wonder why does he/she has this particular tattoo on his/her body, what does it signify in her life. A tattoo defines you and can be an ice breaker in a party or a get together when trying to get to know someone #special.

Now, Men

#1. A Bold Watch

If you don’t already have a watch, you’re far behind the times (no pun intended), and if you do, it might be time to upgrade that scuffed up leather band. It's high time for your wrist to make a big statement.

#2. Cufflinks

If you don’t own cufflinks, what are you doing? In all seriousness, cufflinks are an important part of any man’s dress wear, and one of those small details that can make all the difference. While cufflinks are generally worn with formal wear, you can up your fashion game in the office or on your next night out with the right pair of personalized cufflinks.

#3. A Belt

This may seem an unimportant accessory but nonetheless it is a detail that is noticed right away. "I appreciate an attempt to coordinate the belt with shoes, or jacket, or another detail."

#4. Leather Bag/Purse

It's not inconceivable that you arrive at a first date with a briefcase, and this speaks volumes. It can be a hard leather briefcase or a more informal soft-sided satchel-type bag. "Softer bags communicate sensitivity and understanding – just think of doctors and their bedside manner – while rigid briefcases give more the idea of the high-flying tycoon."

#5. A Pair of Shades

Every man should own a designer pair of sunglasses. Spend time determining which frames best fit your face shape, and try on multiple pairs before making your decision. Sunglasses are one accessory that needs trying on before purchase, so head to your local Sunglasses Hut and spend some time checking out different styles and designs. Look for polarized sunglasses to block those harmful UV rays and keep those peepers protected, whether you’re riding down snow covered mountains on your bike or soaking up those warm rays beach-side.
